Dental Assistant – Part Time

About the role

Bupa's East Victoria Park dental practice, which has six treatment chairs, is looking for a part-time Dental Assistant. The role supports the delivery of safe, high-quality dental care and positive patient outcomes, working alongside dentists in a busy, modern practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with clinical procedures during appointments
• Maintain infection control standards
• Ensure equipment is properly sterilised
• Keep treatment rooms clean, organised and ready for patient care

Required profile

• Experience or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting is highly regarded; candidates with a genuine passion for dental assisting are encouraged to apply
• Strong understanding of infection control, able to clean, prepare and maintain rooms, instruments and equipment in line with BDC procedures and WHS requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, patient-focused approach
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume practice and contribute to a supportive team culture
• Successful candidates must obtain a Working with Children Check as part of the mandatory background check

Required skills

• Chair-side assistance: instrument handling, suction, mixing materials, assisting with X-rays
• Sound knowledge of dental instrumentation

• Part-time position of 37.25 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday 7:45am–5:30pm, Friday 7:45am–4:30pm, and fortnightly Saturdays 8am–2:30pm
