Demi Chef – Hotel Kitchen

About the role

Join the Cliveden Dining team at Pullman East Melbourne as a Demi Chef. You will support senior chefs in delivering high‑quality dishes for hotel guests and events, while maintaining the standards of one of Melbourne’s iconic hotels.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items in line with hotel standards and cost targets.
• Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and minimise food wastage.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe kitchen environment.
• Support senior chefs with daily kitchen and event operations.
• Train and support junior kitchen staff as needed.
• Follow health, safety and food‑hygiene policies strictly.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Demi Chef or Commis Chef in a busy kitchen.
• Strong teamwork, communication and multitasking abilities.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Full legal right to work in Australia.
