Deals Accountant – Financial Advisory

About the role

As a Deals Accountant within PwC Australia, you will partner with clients across M&A, capital financing and corporate strategy to deliver high‑quality financial insights that drive value throughout the deal lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse client challenges and provide tailored, actionable financial insights.
• Produce rigorous financial reports and data‑driven analysis to support smarter business decisions.
• Conduct financial investigations, due‑diligence and valuation work for acquisitions, disposals, mergers and capital‑raising transactions.
• Ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance of all financial data.
• Leverage emerging technologies and digital tools to enhance client engagements.
• Strengthen the Deals brand by contributing to sector research and thought leadership.
• Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in consulting, advisory or client‑facing corporate environments within a Deals or transaction context.
• Post‑graduate qualifications such as CA/CPA, CFA, MBA or Masters in Finance are highly regarded.
• Commercial mindset with strong analytical, problem‑solving and lateral‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high‑quality outcomes.
• Deep understanding of the Australian market, corporate finance principles, capital markets and M&A processes.
• Excellent collaboration and relationship‑building skills.
