Data Science Manager

About the role

Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of Data Science and AI solutions, turning complex business challenges into impactful outcomes. You will combine hands‑on technical work with people leadership, portfolio prioritisation and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to identify where data science, machine learning and AI can add value and shape a balanced portfolio of work.
• Provide technical leadership across statistics, machine learning and contemporary AI, ensuring strong standards for experimentation, modelling, evaluation and peer review.
• Coach, mentor and develop Data Science practitioners, building capability and career growth.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineering, Data Platforms, Architecture, Security, Privacy and Governance to deliver responsible solutions.
• Evaluate deployed solutions, using evidence to understand performance, impact and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and developing Data Science teams, with a focus on coaching and delivering outcomes.
• Strong technical foundation in statistics, machine learning and AI, supported by practical Python experience.
• Track record of delivering end‑to‑end Data Science or AI initiatives, from problem framing to implementation.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into clear, achievable Data Science opportunities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in regulated or complex environments.
