Data Centre Technician

About the role

Oracle is looking for a Data Centre Technician to join its Australian data‑centre team. You will act as the technical bridge between technology groups and the physical data‑centre environment, handling everything from rack installation to equipment de‑commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Execute basic troubleshooting and triage incoming incidents supporting data‑centre operations.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, testing and optimisation of production server hardware and software.
• Perform routine maintenance such as replacing failed components, updating firmware and maintaining an accurate parts inventory.
• Work on a rotating shift schedule, including on‑call duties.
• Communicate clearly with all stakeholders and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a data‑centre environment.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for NV1 security clearance.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift basis, including on‑call.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to documented processes.

Required skills

• Linux operating system knowledge.
• Understanding of data‑centre ecosystem components: cooling, electrical, networking and structured cabling.
• Experience with racking, stacking, deployment and de‑commissioning of data‑centre equipment.
