Data Analyst – Power System Modelling

About the role

AEMO is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Network Modelling and Information team. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality data to external stakeholders and supporting the energy transition through robust analysis and visualisation.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage end‑to‑end data provision and respond to queries.
• Maintain, analyse and visualise statistics related to data provision.
• Enhance and maintain Python automation scripts for data‑management activities.
• Support the SharePoint site used for external data distribution.
• Apply statistical and machine‑learning techniques to identify patterns and forecast trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in data analysis, mathematics, programming or a related discipline.
• Experience in the energy sector with knowledge of electricity transmission and generation principles.
• Strong practical experience with statistics and artificial‑intelligence methods such as regression, clustering, machine learning and deep learning.
• Proficiency in Python, including automated testing and data‑visualisation libraries.
• Demonstrated ability in data wrangling and cleansing.
