Data Analyst

About the role

Datium Insights is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to turn data into insights that help the business make better decisions. You will work closely with Data Engineers to design new data warehouse structures, build complex queries and develop data pipelines that feed the warehouse and data lake with data from new sources.

Key responsibilities

• Gather requirements from business users and stakeholders and document data entities, fields and data types, including non-functional requirements
• Design and peer review database and schema designs, and create mapping documentation for pipelines
• Develop, unit test and deploy DDL scripts, data fixes and ad hoc queries for the business and other Datium teams
• Assist Data Engineers in building ETL pipelines into the Data Lake and the Warehouse
• Suggest improvements to coding standards and create test cases for work and tickets, ensuring tests appear on the Data Quality Dashboard
• Perform rostered operational activities and system health checks

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in data analytics, ideally within the auction industry
• 2+ years with relational databases and/or data warehouse systems
• Experience designing and developing new database or data warehouse tables
• Good written and verbal communication

Required skills

• Advanced SQL
• Stored procedures, ideally in an MSSQL/Azure environment
