Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Deswik is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen the security of its global SaaS platform. Based in Brisbane, you will work across cloud, on‑premises and hybrid environments, partnering with IT and development teams to embed security throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement measurable security controls for AWS, Azure, on‑premises and hybrid systems.
• Integrate security into design, development and delivery processes in collaboration with software teams.
• Support threat modelling, risk assessments and security reviews for new and existing solutions.
• Evaluate, deploy and manage security technologies such as SIEM, EDR and Zero‑Trust frameworks.
• Contribute to incident response, forensic investigations and governance/compliance activities (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, Essential Eight).
• Champion secure development practices, including DevSecOps and a secure SDLC.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a security architecture or engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure), identity and access management, regulatory compliance and major security frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CISSP or CISM are highly desirable.
