Cyber Security Officer

About the role

The Cyber Security Officer will join the Digital Technology team of one of Western Australia’s largest education providers. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, you will deliver frontline cyber security services, protect people, systems and information assets, and support the organisation’s evolving security posture across cloud and AI‑enabled technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and resolve Level 1 and Level 2 cyber security incidents and service requests, including access and endpoint security issues.
• Support incident response activities by performing initial triage, containment and escalation.
• Monitor and analyse security alerts and events to maintain a proactive security environment.
• Conduct operational security tasks such as user access reviews, vulnerability remediation tracking and maintenance of security documentation and audit artefacts.
• Assist emerging technology security initiatives, including AI‑related security reviews, privacy controls and data protection measures.
• Collaborate with Service Desk, Systems, Networks and school IT teams to resolve security issues and promote cyber‑safe practices.

Required profile

• Motivated cyber security professional with experience in operational IT or security environments.
• Strong interest in protecting information assets and supporting a large, distributed education network.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers.
