Cyber Security Engineer - Network

About the role

Join a leading payments innovator as a Cyber Security Engineer focused on network security. You will design, implement and continuously improve Web Application Firewall (WAF) and DDoS protection services across cloud, hybrid and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and support WAF and DDoS protection solutions.
• Develop, tune and maintain WAF policies, rule sets and security controls for web applications and APIs.
• Engineer detection, prevention and response mechanisms for DDoS attacks.
• Collaborate with Network, Cloud, Application and Security Operations teams to onboard services and strengthen security controls.
• Monitor traffic, analyse threats and investigate complex security incidents.
• Implement bot management, API protection, rate limiting and advanced traffic controls.
• Enhance visibility through telemetry, monitoring and SIEM integrations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost cyber‑defence capability and service resilience.

Required profile

• Hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges.
• Proven experience in network security engineering, WAF, DDoS protection or cloud security.
• Strong troubleshooting and traffic analysis skills across network, application and security layers.
• Effective stakeholder management, incident response and technical communication abilities.
