Cyber Security Consultant – Land C4 Systems Engineer

About the role

Azooa is looking for a Cyber Engineer to join the Land C4 Systems Branch and support the LAND 4140 modernisation programme. The role is embedded within Defence and will drive cyber security assessment, authorisation and risk mitigation for critical command, control, communications and computing capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct system assessment and authorisation activities for Land C4 capability systems.
• Apply Defence and Australian Government cyber security frameworks (ISM, PSPF, Defence Security Policy Framework, CSAA).
• Perform operational and design effectiveness reviews and audit security controls.
• Prepare security assessment artefacts, including Security Assessment Reports and Authority to Operate briefs.
• Develop risk statements, recommend remediation actions and escalate cyber risks.
• Analyse vulnerabilities from security exceptions, software defects and design weaknesses.
• Assess system security architecture using structured threat‑modelling methodologies.
• Support change control boards, configuration governance and provide cyber security advice for Battlefield Telecommunications and Tactical Communications networks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Defence cyber security and risk assessment.
• Ability to work with engineering, security, operational and delivery stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Defence cyber security policies and frameworks.
• Experience delivering high‑quality technical advice and documentation for authorised systems.
