Customer Service Officer

About the role

BlueScope Distribution, a single-source supplier of steel and aluminium products and services, is looking for a Customer Service Officer to join its Customer Service team in Albury, NSW. As a key point of contact for customers, you will help them work through questions, orders and changing requirements, while working behind the scenes with the sales and warehouse teams to coordinate quotes, product details and deliveries. No prior knowledge of steel is required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer enquiries by phone and email
• Prepare quotes and provide product and pricing information
• Process and follow up orders, quotes and customer requests
• Coordinate customer requirements with the sales, warehouse and other teams
• Keep customers updated and ensure important details are followed through
• Build strong customer relationships and identify new sales opportunities
• Look for practical ways to improve the customer experience

Required profile

• Customer service or sales experience, or similar experience in a busy customer-facing workplace such as retail, automotive, a trade counter or medical reception
• Clear and confident communication, strong organisation and attention to detail
• Able to manage several tasks and work with different teams to find customer solutions
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems
