Customer Service Officer

About the role

Vinidex, part of the Aliaxis group, is looking for a Customer Service Officer to join its team at the North Plympton site. Reporting to the Customer Service Team Leader, you will be the first point of contact for distributor customers, handling orders, pricing and delivery enquiries and keeping customers informed.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure you are logged into the phone system so you are available to answer inbound calls.
• Provide order updates and help customers with product availability, promotions and pricing enquiries.
• Receive, process and verify the accuracy of orders received by email, phone and EDI.
• Manage your caseload efficiently, updating notes on client files and contacts.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues across Sales, Distribution, Production, Finance, Administration and Quality.
• Take responsibility for accurate work and suggest ways to improve efficiency and service.

Required profile

• Ideally some customer service experience in manufacturing, retail, trade, hospitality or FMCG.
• Experience resolving customer issues and problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Team player with good time management, attention to detail and a calm approach under pressure.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with solid Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with ERP/CRM systems; SAP and Salesforce are advantageous.
