Customer Field Technician

About the role

nbn is hiring a Customer Field Technician in Townsville, a hands-on, customer-focused role within its internal workforce. You will work independently to complete a variety of tasks across different nbn technologies, helping connect homes and communities. Previous experience in telecommunications is not needed; full training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Install copper or fibre cabling and set up customer equipment
• Identify and fix faults
• Support customers in their homes or businesses
• Work independently and manage your own workload
• Follow safe work practices and nbn's safety procedures at all times

Required profile

• Background in a trade, hands-on technical job or customer-focused trade role, such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, labouring, construction, mechanical work or manufacturing
• Enjoyment of hands-on problem-solving and comfort speaking with customers
• Ability to work independently and deliver quality work
• Strong commitment to safety and clear communication skills
• Current, clean driver's licence
• Full working rights in Australia; a criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment are required
