Custody Officer – Secure Justice Career

About the role
Ventia is delivering custodial services for the WA Department of Justice and is looking for motivated individuals to join its Custody Officer team across Metro Perth. You will help maintain safety, dignity and wellbeing of people in custody while supporting the smooth operation of courts, prisoner transport and secure medical escorts.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and safely transport people in custody.
- Maintain security during court proceedings and other justice environments.
- Conduct welfare checks and uphold duty of care.
- Manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Complete accurate reports and records.
- Work collaboratively within a close‑knit operational team.
Required profile
- Availability to complete full‑time training (Mon‑Fri, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm).
- Willingness to commit to 12 months to obtain Certificate III in Correctional Practice.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
Required skills
- None specified – training provided.
