Cropping Overseer

About the role

Nerrin Nerrin Pty Ltd, a 10,000-acre mixed farming operation near Streatham in western Victoria, is looking for a full-time Cropping Overseer. The role takes charge of day-to-day cropping operations on a big modern cropping and sheep operation, working closely with and reporting directly to the owner. It is a hands-on position with real autonomy, and sheep work is minimal.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee sowing, spraying and harvesting operations
• Run and maintain harvesters, tractors, sprayers and trucks
• Coordinate contractors and casual staff during busy seeding and harvest periods
• Manage grain cartage, storage and delivery logistics
• Keep records and report directly to the owner, with no middle management
• The occasional bit of sheep yard work, nothing full-time

Required profile

• 3+ years of broadacre cropping experience
• Experience coordinating contractors or casual staff is a strong plus
• Comfortable working autonomously and liaising directly with the owner

Required skills

• Confidence running harvesters, tractors, sprayers and trucks
• Current driver's licence; HR essential, HC highly regarded
