Counsellor Case Manager – AOD and Rehabilitation

About the role

New ROADS offers alcohol and other drug (AOD) and comorbidity services, including 1:1 counselling, group sessions, police drug diversion, case management and residential rehabilitation. It is recruiting a Counsellor/Case Manager for a fixed-term part-time role of 30 hours per week based in Adelaide. The role focuses on thorough assessments of clients entering the residential rehabilitation programme, evaluating risks to the client or others and identifying needs to ensure safety and well-being before admission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic AOD services in office and through outreach programmes
• Help people in AOD programmes start and keep up healthy lifestyle changes
• Build community partnerships to improve client outcomes and increase service referrals
• Work to reduce the stigma around AOD and mental health issues

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor in Social Work, Psychology or a related field, or specific AOD qualifications with relevant experience
• Ability to offer intensive support, counselling and case management
• Experience implementing a multidisciplinary, integrated approach
• Strong relationship-building with clients, community groups and external agencies
