Cost Manager – Retail

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join a high‑performing team delivering retail projects for a national client. The role covers new store, renewal and refurbishment projects, providing end‑to‑end cost management from concept design to final account settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre‑contract cost planning and estimating during design phases.
• Prepare and manage budgets for new and renewal retail projects.
• Conduct procurement and tender evaluation activities.
• Assess progress claims, contract variations and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and identify value‑improvement opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with Woolworths project teams and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in cost management, quantity surveying or similar role.
• Strong experience in cost planning, contract administration, procurement and variation management.
• Proven ability to manage client, contractor and consultant relationships.
• Current driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using CostX.
