Cost Controller – Project Controls for Renewable Energy Infrastructure

About the role

Marinus Link is seeking a Cost Controller to join its Project Delivery team across multiple Australian locations. You will help keep a nationally significant renewable energy interconnection project on budget, providing accurate cost forecasts and financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project expenditure, commitments, accruals, forecasts, contingency utilisation and forecast‑at‑completion performance.
• Develop and maintain cost reports, dashboards and performance metrics for leadership and governance forums.
• Analyse cost trends, variances and emerging financial risks, delivering actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate monthly cost forecasting activities with delivery teams, contractors and commercial stakeholders.
• Review contractor cost submissions and forecasts for alignment with scope and approved baselines.
• Support cost assurance reviews, estimate reviews and periodic re‑forecasting exercises.
• Collaborate with planning, risk and commercial teams to align scope, schedule, risk and cost outcomes.
• Maintain and improve cost control systems, reporting tools and data quality processes.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Controls, Engineering, Finance, Quantity Surveying or related discipline (desirable).
• Proven experience in cost control, project controls or commercial reporting on major infrastructure or capital projects.
• Strong understanding of cost forecasting, budgeting, cost reporting and financial analysis.
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and risk management.
