Cost Controller

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a proactive Cost Controller to join its Finance Team. You will be responsible for supporting budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial performance analysis across our infrastructure projects, helping the business make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and management of budgets, forecasts, cost estimates, cash flow and month‑end financial reporting.
• Monitor project and bid expenditures, tracking costs against approved budgets.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.
• Prepare regular financial reports, dashboards and narrative explanations.
• Partner with business units to explain financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Identify cost risks and implement appropriate control measures.
• Review contractor invoices, purchase orders and change requests for accuracy.
• Update and verify revenue claims to ensure completeness.
• Assist with corporate planning cycles and long‑range financial modelling.
• Contribute to enhancements in reporting, systems and financial governance while supporting compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in a finance, commercial or analytical role within a complex organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Progression toward CA/CPA is preferred but not essential.
