Corporate Accountant

About the role

The Australian Olympic Committee is seeking a motivated Corporate Accountant to join its Finance team in Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own the general ledger and month‑end processes across multiple AOC entities, contributing to budgeting, forecasting and audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger and execute month‑end close for the AOC, Australian Olympic Foundation, AOC Community Fund entities, and the Athletes and Coaches Foundation.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns, and international VAT claims.
• Produce regular P&L reports for department heads.
• Maintain and develop the Business Central ERP system.
• Support the redesign of budgeting, forecasting and reporting models, leveraging AI tools where appropriate.
• Assist with the annual audit, financial statements preparation, and sustainability reporting.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to qualification) with solid experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong understanding of general ledger management and month‑end close cycles.
• High attention to detail and proactive problem‑spotting mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (ERP).
