Coordinator Development Engineering

About the role

The Coordinator Development Engineering is a senior technical position reporting to the Executive Manager Development Planning & Engineering. You will lead a team of engineers and construction inspectors to deliver high‑quality development assessment and engineering outcomes for the Mackay region, acting as an Authorised Delegate for operational works permits, subdivision maintenance and survey plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and construction inspectors.
• Review and sign off assessment reports for Operational Works Permit Applications, subdivision maintenance matters and survey plans.
• Ensure decisions are technically sound, timely and compliant with legislation, standards and Council requirements.
• Manage competing priorities and deadlines in a busy environment.
• Communicate effectively and build relationships with internal teams, applicants, developers, consultants, contractors and other external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering.
• Minimum four years’ experience in development engineering, assessment or a similar local government role.
• Proven experience in development assessment processes and reviewing technical documentation.
• Current Queensland “C” Class driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of local and state government interactions.

• Base annual salary of $136,521.53
