Coordinator Community Safety

About the role

We are seeking a Coordinator Community Safety to lead program delivery across remote communities within the MacDonnell Regional Council area. The role involves supporting and training local teams, ensuring safety initiatives are effective and culturally appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning and delivery of community safety programs in remote locations.
• Provide on‑site support, training and guidance to community members and staff.
• Engage with Aboriginal communities to ensure programs respect cultural values.
• Monitor program outcomes and report on effectiveness.
• Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and council policies.

Required profile

• Diploma level qualification in Community Services or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in roles with high levels of community engagement.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Current NT Manual Drivers Licence.
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an NT Working with Children (Ochre) Card.
• Successful completion of a criminal history check.
