Cook - Aged Care (Permanent Part Time)

About the role

Calvary St Francis Retirement Community in Eleebana, Lake Macquarie, is looking for a Cook for a permanent part-time position. The community is a welcoming aged care facility set in a peaceful bushland environment. The role covers 6 shifts per fortnight from 11 am to 7 pm: Week 1 is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and Week 2 is Wednesday and Thursday.

Key responsibilities

• Provide fresh cooked meals to vulnerable aged care residents.
• Help residents maintain their health and wellbeing by meeting the Calvary National Menu Guide.

Required profile

• Knowledge of IDDSI and nutritional guidelines.
• Ability to cook meals in line with planned menus.
• Completion of (HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices) or willingness to obtain it.
• Desirable: TAFE Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or Certificate Level III in Food Studies (or working towards).
• Desirable: experience in an aged care or healthcare setting.

Required skills

• Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication.
• Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control.
• Ability to operate standard domestic and industrial kitchen equipment (desirable).
