Conveyor Engineer

About the role

Peabody Energy is looking for an onsite Conveyor Engineer to lead technical support for critical bulk‑materials handling and conveyor systems at the Centurion coal mine in Glenden, Queensland. The role focuses on ensuring that conveyor assets operate safely, reliably and efficiently to meet production targets and long‑term performance goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for conveyor and bulk‑materials handling systems across the mining operation.
• Drive reliability improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and availability.
• Identify asset risks and develop engineering solutions that improve safety and operational outcomes.
• Support maintenance strategies, defect elimination and continuous‑improvement programmes.
• Conduct engineering investigations, root‑cause analyses and failure reviews.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise conveyor system performance.
• Manage engineering projects and modifications from concept through implementation.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory obligations and company requirements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership for conveyor assets in a mining environment.
• Experience working closely with maintenance, operations, engineering and project teams.
• Strong problem‑solving focus on safety, reliability and productivity.
