Control Systems Engineer (Brisbane)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our Brisbane team. You will design, develop, test and commission advanced control solutions for mobile and industrial hydraulic machinery, supporting sales and customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into innovative control system designs and provide feasibility and budgeting advice.
• Design, develop, test and commission control systems; lead small‑to‑mid size projects, perform risk assessments and mentor junior engineers.
• Maintain engineering quality according to PEP‑ETO and internal documentation standards; test new products and drive process improvements.
• Support component selection, testing and field commissioning; create hand‑over documentation and travel domestically or internationally for customer support.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience programming industrial controllers (CODESYS IEC 61131‑3) and strong analytical, problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of functional safety, CANbus, Ethernet Fieldbus and mechanical/hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with electrical design, remote access, networking and IT/software concepts; project management experience is a plus.
• Analytical, solution‑focused, pragmatic with excellent communication skills.
