Contracts Manager – APAC

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Contracts Manager to join its newly created Commercial Legal team in Sydney. The role will support commercial and technology transactions across the APAC region, working closely with in‑region counsel and global legal leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, analyse, negotiate and finalise complex commercial transactions with enterprise customers, vendors and strategic partners, including IP licensing agreements.
• Propose and develop scalable solutions to improve contracting efficiency.
• Collaborate with business units and legal team members to streamline contract management processes, identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
• Work cross‑functionally with Product, Sales, Business Operations, Research and Procurement teams to achieve key business objectives.
• Partner with in‑region and lead counsel on day‑to‑day triage of regional legal matters, ensuring effective prioritisation and coordination.
• Drive regional rollout of process improvements, policy updates and programmes from global headquarters, including local enablement sessions.
• Contribute across other areas of the legal function as needed, supporting a small, high‑impact team.

Required profile

• Substantive knowledge of software and SaaS agreements, reseller agreements, services agreements, strategic partnerships and general commercial contracts.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements in a technology‑focused environment.
