Consultant – Governance, Risk and Controls

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Consultant to join its Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) team in Sydney. You will work on client engagements that strengthen governance, risk management and compliance frameworks across a range of industries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in assessing and enhancing clients' governance, risk and control frameworks.
• Develop reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations.
• Conduct research and analysis using KPMG’s global tools and methodologies.
• Collaborate with team members to solve client problems and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients while contributing to a positive team culture.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in internal audit, governance, risk, controls advisory, or a regulatory body such as APRA/ASIC.
• Good understanding of business processes, risks and controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a project environment.
• Collaborative mindset with a desire to build professional relationships.
