Construction Specialist – Client‑Side Coordinator

About the role

Tesla’s Construction & Infrastructure team is seeking a Construction Specialist/Coordinator to act as the company’s client‑side representative on a diverse portfolio of construction projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to Tesla’s high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate construction activities for Tesla Motors and Energy sites, including manufacturing facilities, retail, and service locations.
• Serve as the on‑site client representative, monitoring contractor performance against scope, schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and close‑out documentation.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (Real Estate, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, EHS) and external parties (general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers).
• Support bid processes, scope reviews, and contract administration.
• Track project budgets, review invoices, flag cost variances, and maintain updated schedules.
• Conduct site walks and inspections to verify compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and Tesla’s design standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements, contributing to playbooks and best‑practice templates.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction coordination or project management within a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project timelines.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to issue escalation.
• Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and utility coordination.
