Construction Operator – Underground Fill & Services

About the role

Join the underground Fill & Services team at Mount Isa Mines as a Construction Operator. You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining critical infrastructure that supports safe and efficient mining operations. This residential position offers a 7/7 rotating day‑and‑night shift roster, allowing you to live and work in the vibrant local community.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair underground paste reticulation and ventilation systems.
• Carry out a range of underground construction tasks such as bulkhead construction, stop‑log installation, concrete pads, civil works, handheld drilling and service‑pin installation.
• Perform planned maintenance and repair work on underground infrastructure.
• Maintain high standards of underground housekeeping and manage consumables, equipment and materials to minimise waste.
• Collaborate with supervisors and operational teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with production schedules.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Construction Operator in an underground mining environment.
• Willingness to work a residential 7/7 rotating shift roster.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and high‑quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and proactively manage resources.
