Company Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Company Accountant to lead the finance function for RIS Safety, our largest operating business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will handle financial accounting and reporting for the entity and support subsidiary accounting needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare journals, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain accounting workpapers and supporting schedules.
• Produce monthly management reports with commentary.
• Prepare and review BAS, GST, payroll tax and other statutory compliance obligations.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow reporting.
• Support the preparation of consolidated financial reports and board reporting.
• Provide accounting and reporting support to subsidiary businesses.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks and advisers.
• Partner with operational managers to deliver financial insight.
• Contribute to finance projects, system implementations and business improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a Company Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting and statutory compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple entities and work collaboratively within a finance team.
