Communications & Events Officer

About the role

This hybrid, full‑time position sits within a member‑based not‑for‑profit association. You will split your time between creating compelling communications and supporting a busy calendar of conferences and webinars, adapting your focus as priorities shift.

Key responsibilities

• Draft the weekly member newsletter and produce copy for emails, event promotions and other marketing materials.
• Plan, create and publish social media content across platforms, maintaining a consistent brand voice.
• Support the Events Manager in delivering five major conferences (200‑400 delegates) and around 40 webinars each year.
• Run webinars end‑to‑end on the day, handling speaker and delegate communications, delegate packs and conference administration.
• Maintain a consistent tone and style across all external communications.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing or events coordination.
• Excellent writer with strong copy‑writing instincts, able to turn dry material into engaging content.
• Some hands‑on exposure to event coordination or support.
• Highly organised, self‑directed and able to manage deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Adaptable and comfortable shifting between communications and events focus.
