Communication Systems Technician

About the role

Raytheon Australia, a combat systems integrator for Australia's Collins Class submarines, is seeking Electronics Technicians to join its team based at Osborne Naval Shipyard and Mawson Lakes workshops. During major availabilities, technicians introduce new technologies to the Collins Class and provide mission support, maintenance and technical updates. The work is done in small teams while keeping independence, and the position is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Update, upgrade and maintain complex electronic equipment and systems
• Assess, troubleshoot and diagnose problems and implement solutions
• Prepare and execute project update and sustainment plans within budget and timeline
• Work with engineering specialists to report problems, develop solutions and keep equipment serviceable and safe
• Help assemble, install and test equipment and systems

Required profile

• Certificate III in Electronics or Communications
• 3+ years of experience in electronic system fault finding and diagnostics
• Experience in small, dynamic teams delivering to defined timelines
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
• Ability to travel within Australia and overseas for submarine maintenance
