Communication Designer – Visitor Engagement

About the role

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is seeking a Communication Designer to support visitor engagement across its parks and natural areas. Based in Kensington, you will create clear, compelling wayfinding and interpretive signage that connects people with the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop wayfinding, communication, and interpretation plans for on‑site visitor experiences.
• Research, write, and design interpretive content for signage, digital platforms and print media.
• Collaborate with project managers, special interest groups and the Visitor Communication Coordinator.
• Maintain consistency across the department’s visitor‑facing website and booking systems.

Required profile

• Experience producing interpretive and visitor communication products for natural area management.
• Strong commitment to heritage interpretation and environmental stewardship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
