Communication and Data Technician

About the role

RIC Electrics, a locally owned electrical, fire, communication and security services company based in Wagga Wagga, is looking for a Communication and Data Technician. The role covers installation and maintenance of copper and optical fibre communications services for its customers, including work on large projects as part of a team, service breakdowns and independent work.

Key responsibilities

• Install optical fibre and copper structured cabling, and terminate it
• Test and commission optical fibre and copper cabling and communications equipment
• Install communications cabinets and terminate cabling
• Carry out preventative, corrective and break/fix maintenance for customers
• Work efficiently and to a high standard so that customer deadlines and expectations are met
• Communicate with RIC staff and contractors and build good relationships with workers and customers
• Work with little or no supervision and maintain a high level of safety
• Ensure WHS compliance according to RIC policies and SWMS

Required profile

• Open Cablers Licence
• Driver's licence
• WHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Ability to work independently and on large projects as part of a team
