Commissioning Technician – Data Centers

About the role

Join Silent‑Aire, a Johnson Controls company, as a Commissioning Technician supporting data‑center cooling solutions in Sydney. You will lead commissioning and construction activities for Silent‑Aire products, ensuring customer satisfaction, safety and quality compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day CCX services including inspections, installations, start‑up, functional testing and troubleshooting of HVAC and DX equipment.
• Collaborate with client project teams, SAE Engineering and QA/QC to align design requirements and provide feedback.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering technical support and issue resolution.
• Monitor project progress, risks and milestones, reporting impacts on quality, cost or schedule.
• Support regional growth initiatives and share best practices with APAC technicians.

Required profile

• University or college degree in engineering or related technical discipline (preferred) or trade school certification.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a technician, ideally in the HVAC industry.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills with a commitment to safety and quality.
• Willingness to travel and meet site access and pre‑employment checks.

Required skills

• HVAC systems knowledge, including custom modular and direct‑expansion (DX) equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
