Commis Chef (Part‑Time)

About the role

Mercure Sydney Blacktown is looking for an energetic Part‑Time Commis Chef to join its kitchen team. You will mainly work the breakfast shift, preparing buffet items and supporting the all‑day dining menu and Distrikt Café.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the kitchen during breakfast service, ensuring food preparation, presentation and quality standards.
• Prepare and cook breakfast items for the hotel buffet and dishes for the all‑day dining menu and Distrikt Café.
• Assist with group dinner preparations as required and oversee the kitchen attendant.
• Maintain a clean kitchen, wash dishes at shift end, and support stock management and food ordering.

Required profile

• Trade qualifications in culinary arts.
• Experience in buffet breakfast or lunch service is preferred.
• Ability to deliver consistent, high‑quality food while managing food cost.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills with a positive attitude.
