Commercial Manager - Transport Infrastructure Upgrade

About the role

BMD, an Australian integrated engineering, construction and urban development business, is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join its project leadership team on a major transport infrastructure upgrade in Western Sydney. The role is based full-time on site and involves end-to-end responsibility for commercial governance, contract administration, risk management, cost control, forecasting and stakeholder engagement, working closely with the Project Director, construction teams, clients and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy and governance across major infrastructure projects
• Provide commercial leadership during tendering, procurement and mobilisation
• Drive contractual compliance, risk mitigation and commercial best practice
• Manage contract administration, claims, variations and dispute resolution
• Develop and maintain project forecasting, budgeting and cost control frameworks
• Partner with operational leaders to maximise project profitability and performance
• Lead commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders
• Mentor and develop commercial personnel

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Law, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in commercial management within major infrastructure, transport, water or civil construction
• Experience across the full project lifecycle, from tender development to completion
• Proven ability to manage claims, variations, negotiations and stakeholder relationships

Required skills
