Commercial Manager – Pre‑Contracts (Infrastructure)

About the role

As a Commercial Manager in the Pre‑Contracts team at CPB Contractors, you will shape the commercial strategy for major infrastructure tenders across Australia. You will work closely with senior estimating, engineering and project leaders to develop competitive, financially robust bids that secure work and deliver long‑term value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy for major tenders and bids, ensuring competitive pricing and contract positioning.
• Manage risk, pricing, and contract compliance to maximise win probability.
• Oversee contract governance and change‑management processes throughout the bid lifecycle.
• Contribute to financial modelling, forecasting and monthly performance reviews.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to influence commercial outcomes.
• Support contract negotiations both upstream and downstream of award.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in alliance or complex contract environments.
• Expertise in contract management, change control and risk management.
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Commerce or a related field.
