Commercial Litigation Lawyer

About the role

Moray & Agnew is seeking a motivated lawyer to join its Commercial Litigation team in Melbourne on a permanent, full‑time basis. You will work closely with senior litigators, handling your own smaller files while supporting larger, complex matters across commercial, restructuring and insolvency practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage independent commercial litigation files for high‑net‑worth individuals and leading businesses.
• Assist senior counsel on complex contractual, property, and restructuring disputes.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions and court submissions.
• Liaise with clients, providing clear updates and strategic advice.
• Coordinate with external counsel and experts as required.

Required profile

• 2–3 years post‑admission experience (PAE) in commercial litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple deadlines and deliver high‑quality work.
• Strong client‑service orientation and commercial, pragmatic approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, self‑motivated with a commitment to continuous learning.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a high‑performing team.
