Commercial Lawyer (Remote, Australia)

About the role

Teams Squared, a team augmentation company connecting remote talent with global organisations, is hiring a Commercial Lawyer for a fully remote position. The lawyer advises on commercial and corporate matters under the Australian legal framework, with 3 or more years of practice and experience in contracts, compliance and transactional work.

Key responsibilities

• Give practical and strategic advice on commercial and corporate matters, including contract law, corporate structuring and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as service contracts, partnership agreements, NDAs and vendor agreements.
• Support clients through business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and restructures.
• Keep clients compliant with Australian corporate law and regulatory requirements.
• Carry out legal research and stay up to date with changes in Australian commercial legislation.
• Liaise directly with clients and collaborate with internal and client-side stakeholders.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Law and qualified legal practitioner status (mandatory); an Australian degree or accreditation is highly desirable.
• At least 3 years of legal experience in commercial or corporate law focused on Australia.
• Prior experience in an outsourced or remote legal support setting with Australian clients is a significant advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Australian contract and corporate law, including statutes, common law and regulatory bodies.
• Legal drafting, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client matters independently.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and legal practice management platforms.
