CNC Plasma Operator

About the role

Pearl Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Plasma Operator for a Forrestfield-based client specialising in precision metal processing and heavy-duty fabrication. The work is ongoing on a 4-day-on, 4-day-off rotating roster, with a genuine pathway to permanent employment after a successful probation period. Immediate start is available.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC Plasma machinery safely and efficiently
• Load programs, set cutting parameters and calibrate the machine
• Select, prepare and position steel plate for cutting
• Read cutting schedules, instructions and specifications
• Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality and accuracy
• Adjust cutting parameters and monitor machine performance, doing basic troubleshooting
• Use overhead cranes to move steel plate and materials
• Chip, grind and clean finished profiles, and complete routine machine maintenance
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workplace and take part in toolbox talks, safety meetings and training

Required profile

• Previous CNC Plasma operating experience (essential)
• Forklift licence with operating experience (essential)
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
• Previous steel processing or manufacturing experience
• Able to read cutting schedules, specifications and work instructions
• Passable pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment, unrestricted Australian working rights, and able to provide a national police clearance

Required skills

• CNC Plasma operation
• Overhead crane operation and Kinetic K5200 experience (bevelling, drilling, milling, tapping or countersinking) - desirable but not essential
