CNC Machinist

About the role

Komatsu Australia is hiring a Machinist for its Welshpool operations. You will use your CNC expertise in a modern workshop, operating CNC lathes and milling machines with Fanuc controls to make precision components within a team focused on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to manufacture high-quality precision components.
• Program, edit and troubleshoot Fanuc control systems.
• Use both CNC and conventional machining equipment for a wide range of workshop projects.
• Read engineering drawings and specifications to deliver components to exact tolerances.
• Inspect work with precision measuring instruments and select tooling and machining parameters to maximise productivity, efficiency and quality.
• Maintain a safe, organised and professional workshop and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Trade-qualified Machinist, Fitter Machinist or equivalent.
• Proven CNC lathe and milling machine experience.
• Experience machining large, complex components to tight tolerances.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.

Required skills

• CNC lathe and milling machine operation.
• Strong Fanuc control knowledge, including setup and editing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
