Cloud Engineer (Azure Kubernetes)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Cloud Engineer to join a Tier 1 mining company in Perth. You will own the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) platform, ensuring clusters remain healthy, secure, and observable while delivering containerised workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production AKS clusters on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Package, release, and troubleshoot Docker workloads using Azure Container Registry in a Linux environment.
• Design and support secure Azure private networking, including VNets, private endpoints, routing, firewall rules, and RBAC policies.
• Maintain platform observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Container Insights and Grafana dashboards; investigate alerts and optimise performance.
• Tri­age incidents, analyse logs and telemetry, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement reliability improvements.
• Build, maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for application deployments and infrastructure provisioning.

Required profile

• Practical, hands‑on experience with Azure infrastructure provisioning, security controls and application hosting.
• Solid grounding in Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
• Familiarity with Docker and the full container lifecycle.
• Experience authoring and operating Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Good working knowledge of Azure networking concepts.
