Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role

CSIRO is looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Regional Centre Network. You will help build and operate cloud platforms that enable astronomers worldwide to process exabyte‑scale data sets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain a research cloud ecosystem for testing and production environments.
• Integrate storage services and guide the architecture of the Australian SKA science data centre.
• Collaborate with partner organisations across the global SKA community to improve infrastructure reliability, performance and scalability.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless operation of infrastructure and dependent applications.
• Occasionally travel domestically and internationally and adapt to multiple time zones as required.

Required profile

• Strong background in cloud engineering and large‑scale scientific computing.
• Experience with cloud deployment and operational practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with international partners and across time zones.
• Willingness to contribute to a major global science mission.
