Clinical Trainer Sonographer

About the role

South Coast Radiology (SCR), part of the Integral Diagnostics (IDX) Group, is looking for an experienced Tutor Sonographer on the Gold Coast. This hybrid role combines hands-on clinical scanning with mentoring and educating postgraduate and undergraduate sonographers, while continuing to deliver patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one clinical training to postgraduate student sonographers throughout their 24-month training program.
• Mentor undergraduate sonography students during clinical placements.
• Support competency assessments, progress reviews and ongoing professional development.
• Coordinate student workflows, diary management and learning opportunities.
• Take part in IDX education programs and tutor forums to improve training standards.
• Balance clinical scanning with education in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Required profile

• Graduate Diploma or Master of Medical Sonography (ASAR accredited).
• At least five years of clinical sonography experience.
• Genuine passion for teaching, mentoring and developing others.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong technical knowledge and commitment to high-quality patient care.

Required skills

• Experience with RIS/PACS and digital reporting platforms (desirable).
