Clinical Nurse (Withdrawal) – Part-Time

About the role

The Townsville Hospital and Health Service is recruiting a Clinical Nurse (Withdrawal) for its Mental Health Service Group. The nurse delivers specialised, evidence-based alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) assessment, treatment and care coordination to individuals, families and groups across the catchment, including ambulatory withdrawal management, opioid substitution treatment (OST) induction and ongoing treatment. The position is fixed-term, part-time (45.6 hours per fortnight) and starts as soon as possible by 19 December 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver ATOD assessment, treatment and care coordination services to individuals, families and groups
• Provide clinical care for people with substance use concerns, including ambulatory withdrawal management and OST induction and ongoing treatment
• All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the service

Required profile

• Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (if applicable)
• Class C driver's licence
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks, as this is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role
