Clinical Nurse Governance Lead

About the role

We are seeking a strategic Clinical Nurse Governance Lead to provide senior clinical oversight for Maternal and Child Health and Immunisation services. In this temporary, part‑time position you will champion a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the council’s community health programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight of governance systems across MCH and Immunisation services.
• Lead clinical audits, incident reviews, root‑cause analyses and implement follow‑up actions.
• Ensure clinical practice is safe, evidence‑based and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Identify clinical and operational risks using data and advise management.
• Lead clinical education, mentoring and workforce capability development.
• Support competency, scope of practice and mandatory training compliance.
• Contribute to service improvement, planning and redesign initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with substantial experience in Maternal and Child Health, Immunisation or community health.
• Strong expertise in clinical governance, quality and safety.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, risk management, education and workforce development.
• Ability to analyse data, influence practice and drive service improvement.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of $63.50 plus 12% superannuation.
• Fixed‑term, part‑time role (3 days per week) for 2 years.
