Clinical Nurse Consultant - Older Persons Health

About the role

Central West Hospital and Health Service is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for Older Persons Health (Aged Care and Gerontology) in Longreach, Western Queensland. The role provides clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership, operational direction and advocacy, working with the Nurse Navigators across the Central West region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect care as required, supporting safe, quality healthcare through high clinical nursing standards in aged care and gerontology.
• Work in collaboration with the Nurse Navigators throughout the Central West Hospital and Health Service.
• Maintain a clinical workload and give clinical direction using contemporary gerontology management principles.
• Plan, facilitate, coordinate and evaluate service provision effectively.

Required profile

• Expert clinician with a passion for geriatric care and community-led health outcomes.
• Willingness to live and work in a rural setting with a supportive team environment.
• Must be vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and hepatitis B, and able to provide evidence of immunity and vaccinations with the application.
