Clinical Nurse Consultant - Electrophysiology Coordinator

About the role

Townsville Hospital and Health Service is recruiting a permanent full-time Clinical Nurse Consultant - Electrophysiology Coordinator (Nurse Grade 7). The senior clinician provides advanced nursing leadership and expert clinical oversight, coordinating evidence-based, person-centred care for patients needing electrophysiology and cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) services. The role covers the whole patient journey, from referral and decision-to-treat through procedural preparation, admission, procedure, discharge and follow-up.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical and professional leadership across the patient journey
• Coordinate care for electrophysiology and CIED services
• Support safe, timely and efficient progression from referral through to follow-up
• Contribute to service quality, workforce capability and organisational objectives
• Travel to other facilities within the hospital and health service by small plane or ferry, including day and/or overnight stays, for clinical activities, planning, quality, performance and education

Required profile

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification (mandatory)
• Highly desirable: a relevant postgraduate qualification
• Highly desirable: working knowledge of clinical and management software such as Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix and PowerPoint
• Able to commit to possible travel between facilities
• Role carries a vaccine-preventable disease risk; probation may apply and pre-employment checks will be conducted

What we offer

• Salary of $5,390.40 to $5,852.40 per fortnight (Nurse Grade 7)
• 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14% to 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
